The car car and its new driver
We have spent most of the day with Mr hazelh's youngest sister and her family at their new house near Arundel. It's great to see them finally settled in a place that is big enough to accommodate all four of them, plus the dog. Until very recently they had lived for far too long in a small terraced house that they had uncomfortably, and very obviously, outgrown.
The main events of the visit were the unveiling of the car car with Xander (a great success) and a game of Monopoly with Freddie (eventually abandoned due to the length of the game, but Mr hazelh would have been the winner had we continued to the bitter end). Freddie also played his saxophone for us. He's not bad for a beginner. The only disappointment of the day is that Freddie spotted that I got one of the dates wrong on the plaque for the car car. I somehow managed to mistake 1968 for 1966! I think that I may organise for a wee erratum plaque to be made and fixed beneath the big one on the car car's base.
This evening Mr hazelh's parents took us out for supper at the yacht club. It felt rather brave to go out in the stormy weather. I am relieved that we are now back home again safely.
In my blip are my father-in-law and his grandson (my nephew) Xander with the newly restored car car. (For the 'before' state of the car car, please see my blip of 16th May 2024.)
Exercise today: none.
