Tea!
Christmas afternoon tea at the local tea shop. Amazing ‘festive’ scones served with home made mincemeat and clotted cream. We were sceptical but they were delicious! We are a very mixed bunch, and you’ll notice a couple of people who like having their photo taken as much as I do, and a couple of absolute posers!
I met a lovely man this morning. For three days this week I drove to and from work in silence. The radio had stopped emitting sound. Even plugging the phone in and trying to play my book failed. But, the sat nav lady got through! An audio man was recommended so I drove over first thing, over being the operative word, it was behind a farm, half a mile of dirt track into the middle of nowhere! We sat in the car (the wind was fierce and would have taken the door off!) and he changed settings, fiddled and touched every button and still nothing. He couldn’t understand it as the speaker was clearly working. Eventually he said he’d try a full reset, which he did and still nothing. I think, in desperation he just kept pressing buttons, sometimes two or three at the same time and all of a sudden there was sound. We both cheered and I asked him what he had done. I’ve no idea’ he replied! I was very grateful, the hour into work and then home gain have been horrible with only my own thoughts for company. How much do I owe you I asked. Nothing he said. What a lovely man, he wouldn’t take any money!
James put up a smoke alarm for me, and also relieved me of another guitar and 2 stands! I boxed up the ‘wrong’ cameras and he ordered 2 ‘right’ ones, although we have no idea when he’ll have time to come down again to fit them!
Not a bad day!
