Seriously?

Being in Blighty

Regardless of the atrocious weather - presumably courtesy of Storm Darragh - I had a lovely afternoon.  I went in to town on the bus, guessing that in the icy rain all carparks would be particularly full on a Saturday afternoon in December. It turned out to be a good decision especially as I only had to wait five minutes for the bus.  My destination - a place called 'A Canteen'. It was  the chosen venue for the Book Club members Christmas lunch, and although I only attended the book club for the first time last Wednesday, I was invited to join them and I'm very glad I did. Great company - we even did Secret Santa (book exchange of course). I'm very happy to have found such a nice group of people to socialize with.

After lunch, around 3pm, the rain had stopped so I took a stroll in the High Street - but not for long. The rain might have stopped but the wind hadn't and the icy temperature made my fIingers and toes numb in about ten minutes - so I went to the bus stop where again, I only had to wait 5 minutes which was fortuitous.

Upon my return, and in spite of the weather, I took Rufus to the park for 45 minutes. He seemed to enjoy it - I certainly didn't.

The rest of the evening in 'quiet winter's eve' mode with Netflix and embroidery.
