Holywell Bay

We drove along the coast to West Pentire. We got stuck in holiday traffic, but eventually got to the car park we were aiming for, and it wasn’t too busy. Everyone was heading to the beach. We were heading to the coastal path. We followed it to Holywell Bay. We had fabulous views. It was very sunny and the sea was a beautiful colour, even the cliffs felt manageable! We think we did this walk about twenty years ago.

We then walked back through the dunes and then across Heathland. A really lovely walk. The car park was much busier when we got back. We departed and drove further along the coast to St Agnes.

We parked up, and headed for the coastal path again. The cliffs were much higher, and I had to channel my inner Raynor Winn, and spent a lot of the walk just looking at TT’s feet! I did stop to enjoy the views, which were fabulous. However I had a real freak when we reached a point near a car park, with lots of people taking selfies in the cliff edge. I couldn’t look, and had to keep walking. I stopped to check out a sink hole!!

We had walked a bit too far, s had to cut across heathland so we could ascend St Agnes Beacon- and admire more fabulous views. We then made our way back to St Agnes, and almost had a cow incident, but thankfully there was an electric wire to keep them at bay.

We wandered back through the village to the car, and we’re pleased we had some leftover pizza from last night, as we were rather peckish.

Our next stop was Truro for a supermarket shop, before heading to our holiday cottage near Porthleven. It is very nice. I think we will be comfortable here for the next week. I made a very quick tea, and we made ourselves at home.

This is Holywell Bay. The extra is the cliff walk from St Agnes.
