The longest day
We might be thirteen days away from the shortest day but Bailey's aversion to Storm Darragh and therefore sleep last night have meant that this one has felt long. We were up a few times in the night and then Bailey was ready for his breakfast at about half five. I held him off until just before six and then stayed up after he had eaten to mark Y11 exams. I got quite a bit done before my own breakfast and a shower. And then the favourite people and I headed to Doddington Hall to get a Christmas tree. My second year of a real one and I love it. It's been decorated by degrees this afternoon / evening once I had braved the cupboard under the stairs. I also fitted in a supermarket trip for Bailey supplies, a walk round the biggest block, a bit more marking, some online Christmas shopping and an afternoon nap. The penultimate week of Term Two ahead so I am grateful that the wind has finally dropped in the last hour or so.
