The snowman
A busy day in the nicest way!
Drumming this morning. The session was a little bit different to usual in that for half the time we all had to play a different instrument. I gave up my bass surdo (drum) for a tamborim. Fun, but after holding the tamborim for half an hour I had a painful little finger. Think I'll stick with a surdo!
MrM met me from drumming and we drove to a pub in Kirkheaton, where we joined several 'Tarts' - friends who used to dance or play an instrument with the Rhubarb Tarts, a Molly dancing side that sadly disbanded a few years ago. A delicious pre-Christmas pub lunch was enjoyed, and it was good to catch up with everyone. Some Christmas cards were exchanged as some of the party are sufficiently organised to have written theirs already and Karen, a talented crafter, was gifting knitted snowmen. They're really cute!
Home for a short while before heading into Huddersfield for Jazz club - three jazz guitarists (including Trevor Owen), a bass player, and a saxophonist. An evening of excellent music!
