'TWAS ON A MONDAY MORNING...
...we were woken up just after 7.30 a.m. by the sound of a lorry with a grab arm removing some of the detritus left when the Water Board dug a big hole in the pavement last Thursday to replace water pipes.
Honestly, if it’s not the Gas Board, it’s fences flying or it’s the Water Board - and we are getting fed up with all the mess and inconvenience. But we soldier on and are grateful that we are not living in a war zone!
I leaned out of our front bedroom window to take the top shot and then when we got back from meeting a friend, I got out of the car and took the bottom two shots, including the signs that have to be in place, by law, I believe.
It’s still quite wet and windy and Mr. HCB is now waiting for the roof man to come, as there appears to be an issue with water dripping down our outside wall rather than running along the gutter, so we hope that can be fixed. This part of the roof work has a 15 year guarantee so we hope that when the man arrives, he will be able either to fix it today or come back and fix it.
At least I am on theme for this week’s Mono Monday challenge, which is “Street” - and this is all happening in our street!
Take care and stay warm, dry and cosy. We are waiting for a friend to arrive just after 3.30 so I think I may well spend the afternoon under my electric throw - I was considering some domestic goddessing, but am feeling rather cold, so the throw has won the day!
