Back to the future?
The future as apparently being sold to us depends upon a much greater reliance on electrical power and the phasing out of gas appliances amongst other things. One feels this image is now more difficult to sell following the serious disruption caused by Storm Darragh with widespread power cuts caused by damage in various forms to overhead power cables. I was one of the lucky ones; having been informed the outage could last 36 hours, power was restored, for me, after only 7 hours but many still wait. Less lucky with the internet which was out for 2 days, local small traders were badly affected as they could not accept card payments, and those working from home, couldn't. Obviously much more serious implications for those with medical conditions who rely on this form of energy.
Not intended as a political rant, more a case of stating the obvious as viewed from a rural area.
Today's blip is a low growing Primrose, pretty much immune to the strong winds; will endeavour to catch up over the next couple of days.
