Slacking.
I walked from home into town this morning which is about 2 miles and there were lots of photo opportunities eg fallen trees, men chopping them up, Christmas displays in gardens but for some reason this is the only photo I took!
It was bitter cold but not freezing with a stiff breeze so I had the washing machine on as soon as I got up and most of it was dry or nearly dry when Terry brought it in at lunchtime as it looked like it might rain (it didn't).
My back has been very painful today and I wasn't sure I'd walk that far but sitting around doesn't help and moving abut tends to be the best thing. I did have to sit down on a bench when I reached town, before going in the PO but that brief rest made it easier to have a bit of a stroll about town before going for the bus home.
I was shocked at the price of 2nd class stamps!
Nipped in Card Factory before heading to the bus station.
The bus was late - same sh*t, different day!
I have no idea where the afternoon ahs gone - I don't seem to have done much and the time has flown by.
I noticed yesterday that they've been making a film about one of my favourite books, "The Salt Path" by Raynor Winn. It's due in cinemas late April next year. I might read the book again as it will be a while before the film is available out of cinemas and besides, it is unlikely to be as good as the book. Nevertheless, I am looking forward to watching it. The book is truly inspirational and after reading it I let my mum borrow it. She thought it was the best book she'd ever read and she has been reading it again recently. My daughter has read it as well. I recommend it for anyone and everyone - it's a story of courage in times of despair ad the best thing is that it's true.
