Transition - Before & After
The day of the race and our start time was 1530hrs, but transition opened at 0830hrs, so K, B and I decided we wanted the best spot in our allocated row. As you can see we were the first ones in transition and got the three prime spots in our wave!
Then it was a case of a bit of retail therapy in the Expo and then time to get race ready and in the zone!
The swim was nasty, lots of people all fighting for position, I got punched in the face and swam over and hampered for about half the 750m distance. Out and off on my bike and was flying. It was a nice flat route and lots of opportunities to get down on my tri bars and try and be as aerodynamic as possible. Off on the run and I could not have gone quicker it was hot and I was thirsty but its hard to drink and run and stopping to drink wastes too much time, but I still managed a sprint finish!
So the results ... 750m Swim 19mins, 20km Bike 45mins, 5km Run 30min in total 1hr 42mins - pleased as I could not have done any more. I finished 189th out of 736 women and in my age group 35th out of 103!
Enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate!
