Andrea and her art
We were down to the surgery/hospital for our medical review appointments with nurse Michael for 8.05. We’d hoped to get taken in time as the car had to go for servicing at 9. Mr C was called at 8.25 and I went in when he got out. I lied about alcohol units, had bloods taken and was told to monitor BP twice a day for a week as it was high. I have white coat syndrome and get anxious. He asked about my memory. I said I thought it was good as I have to remember everything for the two of us.
The garage can’t get the bit to fix the thing flapping about - since Brexit the suppliers don’t know when anything will appear. No surprise there. However he says it’ll be unlikely to fall off so we are ok to drive to Birmingham for our flight next week.
I walked home the long way round and got there just as the surveyor was arriving early to look at the conservatory.
The good news is my bank insurance phoned to say they have processed my holiday cancellation claim minus the £50 excess. Not bad. Only 2 weeks since we first contacted them. Unfortunately Mr C, being over 80, no longer is eligible for that insurance and Staysure his new firm, seems to be a subsidiary of a US firm which won’t accept the GP letter. It needs GP to fill in a lengthy form which hasn’t been done yet.
We had a delicious dinner cooked by Andrea this evening. It’s been a while since we saw them as she’s been on a waiting list for 12 months for a hip replacement. She can walk fine but will get stuck trying to get out of the car.
She’s an artist. This is her with one of her trees. She uses paper and muslin and machine stitches on top.
