Not ourTypical Sunday in Rio
Back blip
No Sunday hippy market today. Instead, we treated ourselves to a brunch in Cafeína, just across the street - bread, scrambled eggs, ham and cheese, coffee and orange juice. This set us up well and we both worked at our desks till mid afternoon. We knew we’d be working here and that’s fine.
Then our first walk down Santa Clara and onto the front. We also wanted to check that one of our favourite places La Maison was still under renovation. It certainly is and I think their Instagram post announcing that they’ll be open for new year celebrations is very optimistic!
We stopped at this place on Avenida Atlântica with Bolívar and had our first taste of buskers on this visit. Then had a very early salad and pasta dish dinner/ Scottish tea (that early, yes!) at our local Italian with the green checked tape cloths. Botafogo was playing and the game was on the telly. They won the Brazil football championship for the first time in 29 years!
Home and another early night.
