Wheel of steel

Following a nice, lazy start to the day - we hunkered down as the remnants of the wind blew through - we were pleased to accept an invitation to lunch at my sister’s place.

It was lovely to have a catch up and with the children and my brother in law otherwise engaged, my sister and I actually had a few precious minutes of uninterrupted dialogue!

Sadly, rehearsal beckoned, so we had to make our excuses and head off a little sooner than I would otherwise have liked.

Rehearsal was a slightly tricky one as the director was folding the children’s routines into a couple of key scenes, so we couldn’t get into anything too meaty. However, to assist, The Youngest and I headed up to the balcony to cue a couple of the songs in and she absolutely loved it.

It’s quite an interactive thing when you know there is a hoard of people waiting in the wings who won’t come on until the music plays! One click and, boom! They all start appearing. The Youngest really enjoyed it. I wonder if the techy side will be her way into it - it’s where I started and it never did me any harm.

Later on, we headed back to the parents who had offered to cook tea for us all.

It has been very nice not having to worry about meal preparation today!
