Bittersweet Memories in the Rain
And then the heavens opened up and it rained and rained and rained. The rain took most of our snow and created some dense fog. I went out for a walk with my camera and my umbrella and my tunes box. I was not really going anywhere; I was just out strolling around the neighborhood in the rain.
This was a scene from near the end of my walk. I was growing close to home, when I looked over and spotted something orange. Bittersweet! It was wound all around some brush and it was covered in raindrops. I took about a half-dozen macro shots, trying to capture the dripping-wet look of things. So here is one of my better shots of the bittersweet.
As soon as I saw it and identified it, there was a song running through my mind. I could hear a woman's voice, singing: "Bittersweet memories . . . are all I am taking with me." Of course, it was Dolly! Never forget that her song I Will Always Love You is a farewell song. Here is a recording of Dolly singing it back in 1974. Enjoy!
P.S. Just one more! Here's an additional perfect tune, suggested to me by my friend Vectensian: The Prisonaires, with Just Walkin' in the Rain.
