It's not often that you become aware of how precarious modern life is. This is a newly created hole in the path. It looks as if the supporting material has simply disappeared. Given its location near a culverted burn then I'm guessing it's been washed away so it's anyone guess how big the cavity is. Clearly the tarmac on its own is unlikely to support much load... Might just give that part of the path a wide berth
