Great fun (not) Ice-skating
Tarporley organised their Christmas festivities the day after Storm Darragh visited. Someone deserves a commendation for forward planning.
The High Street was closed and stalls filled the empty space. They were selling expensive but totally delicious cakes and bread and buns and pies (they were extra delicious) plus olives and sweets and jams/mincemeat/chutney/curds etc etc.
The festivities started with a Santa Dash, a couple of hundred people dressed in red running (or strolling whilst chatting to each other and the crowd) the length of the street, gathering their breath and then returning to where they started. Great fun
The hotel in the middle of the High street had an ice rink in its car park. Not real ice, just very slippery plastic that was sprayed regularly. The kids and their mum went on it, without exception they were useless holding onto the sides and tottering round. To be fair so was everyone else.
Lots of wabbles, slides, skids and falls and loads and loads of laughter.
It was a brilliant afternoon, Daughter one has moved to a wonderful place. We will be spending Christmas there and really looking forward to it.
I set the camera on continuous shooting mode to make sure I got that one good shot. I got over 1000 shots, not all good and am still ploughing through them. Hopefully the above are some of the good ones
