I guess it's a bit small to read what is written below his saintly sandals:
St John of God (1495-1550)
Patron of all People 
with Difficulties in Life 

I guess they could have spared themselves the trouble of engraving the last line. 
I hope he's as good as he is supposed to be at treating eating disorders.
