Mr Newbold's Reindeer

Standing high above the entrance to the old Baptist Church on Belton Street, now owned by Newbolds and renamed Church Court. They are a splendid sight.

I'm spending far too much time at the computer without doing anything and this must change if I'm to get ready for Christmas. It took me over half an hour to work out how to wrap text round a photo in Google docs.

At 3.50 pm I realised it was getting dark, that I hadn't been out and Basil hadn't either for that matter. We set off with Cecily to photograph the reindeer. Outside the Hallcroft Tap, a lady stopped us to ask the way to the bus stop for Leicester. Which is when Colin, who had been inside with friends, tapped on the window and called me in.

He bought me a G&T and we had a very convivial hour chatting to Ray, Tony and a lady who I'm afraid to say, whose name I can't remember. Basil, naturally, charmed everyone and got two sausage rolls for his efforts. He still managed to eat his dinner later on.

Around six o'clock, we all left. Basil and I went to see the reindeer.
