All The Way Around!
I think I'm slowly adjusting to this new way of life and more relaxed pace.... I've been making a list (no, not for Santa) of wee jobs to do before Santa does come (I know, only if I've been good) and most need a trip to B&Q, so am saving them for when we are next out and decided to take Arlo his afternoon walk then return and do the job I could do.
Mrs C had been out early to take her car for its MOT and returned with a courtesy car the same colour and model as my car, but 8 years newer. I had a wee seat in it, oooh... so as she was leaving to return it, I asked if I could have a drive of it on her way back, she took my car and we met at Gladhouse to switch over. Ooooh.... whereas mine jiggles and squeaks all the time, this one doesn't, all firm and sturdy. I could easily be referring to cars or my creaky self! Maybe one day and when they make it more EV...
Anyway, we were off on our walk, initially I just thought a walk out and back one side of the reservoir, but we were making good progress.. so I thought we'd see what the route is like to join up with the walk we do from the other side. Arlo helped me find some paths, occassionally I helped him. We got to the point where it was going to be a long way back, so messaged Mrs C to see if she could pick us up at the other end if we could get through. Through reeds that were higher than me, beaches, marsh, pine woods, over burns and a bridge, bending to get under low trees, ooh ma back... we joined it up! Despite seeing signs that said there was NO path all the way round, we made it! Now on familiar paths we plodded on, Mrs C was some distance from the meeting point, so onwards and at this point I decided if we'd come this far, we're going to do it all. We passed Mrs C at the anglers hut - she'd missed my message to abandon the plans. Another 1km to the car and we were tired. I couldn't be sure I would do all that again, it was tough at times so once I'd considered completing the loop, there's no way I wasn't going to.
Almost 5 miles and almost 2 hours, less than I thought actually. I'm glad I got to see the sunset, then the dusky oranges on the water... and it was dark when we got home, oh well, that job can be another day. I think if I was still working I'd be annoyed the job wasn't done, whereas now... whatevs!
