Marmalade Mimosas
I took Chris to Dishoom for breakfast. We ate Breakfast naan stuffed with bacon, Brie (just a touch) with Cranberry and Chilli chutney. Assam breakfast tea and a Marmalade Mimosa! I’d highly recommend it. We waddled round the posh shops before heading back to the hotel to get ready for the afternoon’s shenanigans.
Mum joined us at the new Edinburgh Gin distillery. They’ve only been open for four days. We sipped on cocktails before heading off for Afternoon Tea at the Balmoral Hotel. Great decor, light airy, attentive and knowledgeable staff. An amazing selection of the usual tea delicacies. A tea pouring ceremony etc. They didn’t rush you.
Mum headed home again, and eventually after a cancelled train and her car getting stuck in a locked car park because her next train was late.
Chris and I watched Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat at The Playhouse. Donny Osmond played Pharaoh. He was very funny and almost turned it into a bit of a Pantomime rather than a musical. I wasn’t a big fan when I was a teenager but he certainly got the crowd going.
It’s been a good day.
