A cold walk
We decided to walk this morning despite a forecast of light snow. The walk took us up to the ridge of a neighbouring valley and up to the col before dropping down through two villages back to our starting point. We walked a little over 13 kilometres with 470 metres of ascent. On the way we encountered, patou guard dogs, a pig in the woods, bulls and horses. The only danger came when Luke, are sheepdog companion, was viciously attacked by an escaped domestic dog as we arrived back. Rob and I kept the sag away with our walking sticks until the owner came out of the house and eventually brought his dog under control. This dog is well known in the village and is very aggressive. It is a Belgian Malinois. We were subjected to a lot of barking dogs as we walked past farms and houses along the walk. It is my impression that French dog owners do not adequately train their dogs.
