Back in the summer routine......................
A month ago Ann said that she wasn't going to do any sea swimming over the winter (apart from the Boxing Day Swim and most people just run in and run out again). She said she was a 'fair-weather swimmer and wasn't going to do any more sea swimming until April 2025?!!
Mmmmmm................ for some reason she joined the 'Dippers & Swimmers' on Monday and then she went for another swim today. And guess what?..................... I got to go with her. Yay!!!
I was such a good little Collie. I played all along Porthmeor Beach with my ball and then when we got to Porthgwidden Beach I had the choice of sitting at the waters edge or lying by Ann's stuff guarding it. I like guarding Ann's stuff. I feel secure knowing that, that is where she is going to return to. And today it was a bit cold so I was able to make myself a little den under some rocks to keep warm.
On Monday Ann borrowed some gloves. Today she had no gloves so she only lasted about 15 mins in the sea. As soon as I see Ann emerging from the water I go running down to greet her. I really am the bestest little Collie ever. Another 'Dipper & Swimmer' doggie was there today but she didn't know how to guard her owners stuff. She just lached herself onto a random person on the beach. Seriously?.............. I honestly don't know why other doggie's don't know that they have to guard their human's stuff.
….................Everyone says that I am the best!!!!
Oh and Ann ordered some swim gloves and they arrived today. Yay! Apparently she'll be testing them out at 8.30am on Friday.
The other thing she needs to do, is buy a thick towelling changing robe. The worst thing about swimming in the winter is getting changed once one comes out of the sea. In the summer she just used to throw her dry robe over her swimming costume and walk me home (in crocs) back along the beach. Trying to put on proper clothes when freezing cold takes more time than actually swimming?!
New plan....................... she's bought some 'snuggle socks' from Asda (only £3 which she can pull on with her 'UGGY' type boots ) and is going to buy a thick towelling changing robe which she will wear to walk home in, underneath her dryrobe.
