Deeper Meaning

I got interested in details of the pancake ice today. In particular, their shapes and relationships and the darker gaps between them.

The ice surface was strewn with willow leaves and ash seed pods and other debris. Arranging the elements was a little visual puzzle and it all made for an engaging abstracted frozen still life.

The darker areas hint at the depths beneath the ice which, like crevasses and fissures, seem both scary and enticing at the same time.

Extra: One More Than Two.
