Typical

We left the family party and struck out on our own. We travelled east from Stranraer, heading for Selkirk in the Border Country. The roads we took went through forests and mountains and were very beautiful, and all the way they were lined with banks of this stunning flower, Rose Bay Willow Herb. One hears about heather in Scotland, why do we not know about this glorious summer spectacle?

I took several pictures of it along the way, but I liked this one which includes a typical Scottish cottage in the background.
