Winter wonderland
I didn't wake up till 6.45 but it was already in my head to stay in bed as I know there car had been covered in thick frost all night. It required quite a bit of scraping when I left in -3 after 9.
It was cloudy and the mist was low over there Pentlands but there sun was trying to break through as I headed west. That didn't last and by Grangemouth the freezing fog was getting thicker and the winter wonderland off frost laden trees and bushes surrounded me as I drive into Cumbernauld. Unfortunately the car park was a less wonderous experience, black ice.
After sitting an issue with Three Manor radiator I did a bit of work , mainly wrestling with OSCR, add then it was time to go for lunch, 8 of us to the College restaurant. A lovely meal but SO much food.
After I drove straight back home and reversed the morning's experience, thick host frost in the west and sunlight glinting the tops of the Pentlands and the start of a sunset by the time I got to the by-pass.
Once home I solved OSCR and wrestled with HMRC before a phone call with an accountant. Then it was time to get changed for the concert.
It was cold outside, though less frosty than last night and my windscreen is covered. The run through was fractious but the actual concert was ok, a good crowd. We need a couple more string sops but the violin solos and the audience participation helped gloss over a few, wee glitches.
It was nearly 10 before I got home to watch the end of Shetland with Willow on my knee, and I sorted HMRC (found a file I thought I'd deleted in January!) and added NEST to the boxes ticked list.
I think, fingers crossed, today was my Cumberland swansong.
