Love never dies
This morning we went down to St Laurence's church to catch the last day of the Christmas tree festival. 120 trees had been decorated and displayed by local groups and charities, many using handcrafted decorations. The bauble in my image is from the tree decorated by Sunflowers, a local charity that supports families and friends affected by suicide.
A carol service had been organised for 11am, and I stayed for that. There were traditional carols, folk carols, klezmer carols, and more besides. The vicar, Simon, had written a modern day Stroud Nativity, which he read out in between carols. He is a bit of an ageing rock star !
Afterwards I met GG, who is back, albeit briefly, from Bucks. We had coffee at Costa, and combed the charity shops and Home Bargains, while she found the right presents for 'darling Audrey' and 'Clever Quaisa'. It was fun being her personal shopper!
By the time we got home a headache had started up again, but I managed to vacuum the living room and assemble the Christmas tree before calling it a day. You can see the bare tree in Monday's blip.
I've finally realised that it's chocolate the triggers my headaches! A hot chocolate in Costa and a few milk chocolate 'coins' did it today, and a single dark chocolate truffle was the culprit last night.
