Bicycle Repair Shop...
...in the back of Trail House cafe. I was going to see if I could do something abstract with it but decided that it makes a much more interesting picture just as it is.
The class last night was a bit of a mixed bag. The teacher was fine, but she was up against parking lot drama outside the door when a young guy ran into another vehicle and didn't seem to know what to do about it. When Sonia went out to talk to him she said he gave evasive answers and seemed inebriated. Then he got into his car which he backed right up to the door of the studio, so Sonia took a picture of his license plate, and then he drove off at speed. Sonia took the picture to the pizza joint next door. Turns out the car the guy drove into belonged to the owner of the pizza joint who got into his vehicle and drove off.
I wasn't sorry I went back to take the class, but it is definitely not my time of day. My body didn't think so either and let me know about it all night. It was also dark by the time class was over and the street I habitually use has lots of trees and few street lights. The good part was that it was wine time when I got home....
Spike had one of his mysterious bad nights also and paced around scratching up his rugs and being unable to settle. It rained in the night but was clearing by the time John had read a bit of Edward Abbey's Down the River, so we took Spike on his mountain.walk. He was happily running along up the trail when an officious woman told us he was supposed to be on a leash. We complied and she went on her way, but Spike missed his big run in the meadow as the officious woman and her companion were busy looking at the newts in the pond. Technically I think she was right, but it's the first time anybody has asked us to put him on a leash.
By the time we got back to the car it was starting to rain again so we repaired to the Trail House where I took today's entry while I was waiting for my coffee.
Afternoon was a visit to the dentist where having my teeth cleaned reminded me to ask the dentist about my jaw (technically the tmj) which
makes crunchy noises and sometimes feels slightly out of joint. He thought it was probably arthritis and said he had a treatment for it. The treatment sounded far worse than the condition, so I assured him that it wasn't time for that yet.
It's raining again so looks like it will be another cosy night in front of the fire looking for something more uplifting than the news to watch on tv.
