Effort!

Another great day in the Chamonix Valley. This morning I met up with Tomaszk for a mountainbike ride at Le Tour ski area. Not a huge vertical elevation climb, but a great effort all the same under a scortching sun and the current heat wave (even for Chamonix!) The reward was arriving to Col de Balme on the Swiss border for great views and a cool breeze.

This photo is nice for another reason. You can see on the far right of the photo under the Aiguille Verte (with the hanging glacier) to the top of the Grands Montets. This is where I met up with Tomaszk in April for a nice ski out-of-bounds. The snow field in the photo is the one facing us in this picture just off the left tip of the Grands Montets (showing sloping snow slopes on both left and right). ;-)
