Ruby Wedding

Here are T and S, celebrating together at almost exactly the time they married, 40 years ago today. Mum and I went to their party which started at noon and will still be going on now. I took a few more formal shots with them both looking at the camera, but I like this moment when they were more relaxed.

After a delicious lunch, al fresco, we went on to see Ernie in hospital. It's a very sad story there. He is very poorly indeed with pneumonia on top of all the other problems, but is being actively treated with multiple antibiotics and an intravenous drip. Tomorrow they will try again to pass a tube to give him nutrition directly into his stomach. Gone are the days, it seems, when pneumonia could be the old man's friend. He may have known we visited - I'm not sure. The nurse said that he was much brighter this afternoon then yesterday.
