Birnbeck Island
We travelled down to my home town of. Weston-Super-Mare in North Somerset to see Family.
My personal goal was to photograph the old pier (as we know it), as it now finally had received lottery funding to be fully restored. A huge task given it was now falling into the sea.
Birnbeck has the oldest victorian pier and Britain's only pier on an Island. It is also the only pier with a functioning life boat. station
I am old and ugly enough to remember when it was still possible to visit the pier.
Unseen and on the other side is an arm, going out to sea. This arm was used solely. by B.S.A.C (Birnbeck Sea Anglers Club) In 1973 aged just Ten I caught my very first. fish ( with help) also very orange, as I remember and weighing in at a whopping 1lb
Although the weather and light were flat. and brown, this photo is an combination of four images stitched together
Sadly I am unable to. to add a panoramic photo on this site Try this link .The photo displayed is that of Brean down, also from W-S-M beach
