Andy Rourke

This new mural, by Akse, on the Wheatsheaf in Oak Street, Manchester, is dedicated to Andy Rourke, the former bass player in The Smiths, who died from pancreatic cancer in 2023. 

There are always new things to see in the Northern Quarter. For example, on this visit there was work in progress on a large seasonal mural and a newly refreshed Stevenson Square, where one shopper's bag was trying to coordinate with the new colour-scheme.
