The perils of Port
Note to self: cheese is delicious without Port...
Mr hazelh and I were rather green around the gills this morning following our antics at our (not a) Christmas (drinks) party. I very rarely suffer after partying - I know my limits - but I made the mistake of downing a glass of Port with the delicious Mellis cheese that Jon brought to the table(s) last night. This was on top of several glasses of Kir Royale. Oh dear.
That said, I was still up at 6:00am to unload and reload the dishwasher, and wash up the stack of glasses that we neatly lined up next to the sink before retiring to bed after the party. Mr hazelh and I managed to stay awake, pottering about until lunchtime. We retired to bed for a short lie-down mid-afternoon.
Then it was time to get up again and prepare for the arrival of two more dinner guests (yes, really). My not-so-little sister arrived with Mummy hazelh from Holy Island just after 7pm. My sister only stayed for the meal, keen to get back on the road and home to Newcastle tonight. Mummy hazelh is with us for a week and a day, then will be back in the hands of my not-so-little sister for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Exercise today: none.
