Bruce's Wynd

Into Kirkwall for a meeting with my MP.  I later saw Peedie Maggie (fae Longhope) in Bruces’ Stores.  The first time I ever met her was at a YM dance in 1975.  She and another young woman (Ivy Johnson) encouraged me and my pal Willie to go and sit with them.   They ‘discreetly’ opened their handbags to indicate they had half bottles with them.  They encouraged us.  It’s not safe in the Toon as I also met Sandy Dennison.  He told me he had been hearing things about CMC.  I told him that I also had.  I bought a cabbage and a neep for my big Monday night recipe.  My new bank card arrived and a Christmas card from my Best Man.  Going out to Dounby tonight for a meal.  I’ll have to learn to pace me’sel’.
