mount vernon bound today. 20 miles out, 20 miles back, caught in a little bit of rain on the way back. perfect day - mount vernon was pretty cool too.

the trail out and back was the best i have seen in DC, wide and well paved. all in all, can't complain. only about three weeks left here in DC.

weird thing that happened on the trail (what are the chances?) - we were almost to mount vernon when I see a texas 4000 jersey headed my way. it was ben phillips, a 2011 rider, who was on the last day of his solo trip by bicycle from new orleans to DC. we'll meet up later this week for some beers hopefully - crazy coincidence!
