What remains
A new find in the garden and a rather special one. This is the Pink Waxcap (Porpolomopsis calyptriformis) or at least its what remains of a Pink Waxcap. Its sometimes called the Ballerina Waxcap. This is an immature specimen of this very rare waxcap and one that I've never seen before. I was amazed to find it in our garden. Not the best light to photograph it but I had to have a record of it. Unfortunately this one is unlikely to come to maturity as the stem and cap have been nibbled by slugs.
