Today's the day ..................... to draw a line

I know that you were probably hoping that you'd seen the last blip of road-mending outside our house - but I've just got to share the final chapter that happened today?!

The road was closed to all traffic before it got light and the big machines with their orange men moved in.  They worked as a team for a few hours to put down the new road surface on the bit of road they had prepared last weekend - and it was magnificent.  Then they all clocked off and we thought that was that.

Then, in the early afternoon, incredibly the green men that put the lines down the middle and edges of the road appeared from nowhere - and started doing their thing.  We thought we'd have to wait weeks for that to happen but it was all over in a matter of minutes.  It was even more magnificent.

So now I can appreciate how this kind of thing can completely take over your life.  I can sympathise with ForthPorts when he was similarly affected.  Let's face it, it is something that we probably won't ever see again in our lifetime - it should be celebrated .......................!
