Thumb

I managed to trap my thumb in a door a few weeks ago, since then I've watched the bruise grow out - when I first did it the mark was at the cuticle. Is it a metaphor of a reminder of pain? Or is it just my thumbnail doing what it does? More likely the latter, but you'd be disappointed if I didn't look for something deep to think about.
