Crib Festival in Humshaugh

There was a lot going on today.

Hexham Abbey had its big Christmas Fair and there were other stalls outside and in the Great Hall. I was in Hexham before 9 a.m. and bagged the last parking place in Gilesgate. Later the town was jam packed and people could not find anywhere to park.

The fair was much as usual. Lesley had a wonderful array of candles, made mainly from Abbey candles. Excellent recycling. Kay was on the flowers and bulbs.

I waited for Eric and Brian to arrive for coffee. The best we could say was that it was warm and wet*, although Brian's tea loaf was good. We had a chat and I came home at 11 a.m.

This afternoon, I walked to Humshaugh Parish Church to see the crib festival. There were about 60 cribs on display, from all over the world and in all different media.

Which to post for you? The sheep in the background of this knitted set caught my attention.

I've been sorting, tidying and knitting. I'm watching an American police drama called Cross on Amazon Prime. It is not for the faint hearted, but the reading of There are Rivers in the Sky continues to delight me.

Margret definitely has influenza and she is very chesty and unwell. She also tried to stand up to reach something and fell. She reassures me that she fell slowly and has not done any serious damage to herself.

Our contact has been by phone. I am very keen not to catch her infection, although I may have already. Time will tell.

*We were generous in our praise!!
