Urchany cup-marked stone
The abandoned village of Urchany - just up the valley from Farley, north of the Beauly river. The village was abandoned in the 20’s but has been lived in and around since the Bronze Age.
The stone is a 6x3 foot mica-schist boulder with up to 40 cup marks knocked into it. It was a lovely feeling sitting on this stone, thinking about the generations of people before who have done the same.
Wouldn’t you love such a relic near you.?
