Waimangu

It’s difficult to capture the beauty of this place. A volcanic valley with lots of activity, bubbling hot pools, geysers, steam vents, and interesting birdlife. At the end of the 2 mile walk we had a boat ride round Lake Rotomahana as part of our ticket, which was expensive but worth it. A bus took us back to the entrance where we had a basic lunch, and then drove to the Government Gardens, which were not worth the drive.
Ate out at a local bistro in the evening.
