Light entertainment

2nd Saturday

The walk stared from Harrison Park West and went along the Union  canal as far as the Bridge Inn at Ratho. Some sunshine, some West wind, but it was dry, although cold; there was ice in the canal in places. 18 people, and the usual routine of swapping conversation partners. Some of the group and a fine stretch of beech trees. The extra is the canal basin with a number of moored boats.

Lunch was excellently done; the Inn is obviously equipped to deal with big numbers being served a wide variety of food. There is an adjacent bus stop for the X70 which goes to the Gyle shopping centre from where the tram runs into the city; except it was stopping at the Haymarket sidings due to some earlier accident, so I got out there and walked across Town through the West End.
