A day at sea
It’s nice to see a girl among the officers on the bridge, but like policemen they get younger and younger. We are sailing straight across the Great Australian Bight (the land is largely barren desert). The sea is often stormy but today it is like a millpond and the officer can get on with her emails while the ship sails on in a straight line.
We have had talks on ocean currents, seabird identification and early exploration .
