Reggie
I messaged Elaine the picture I blipped yesterday as she told me a while back that she was tasked with purchasing a tree festival participation. It turned out that her involvement had been limited to the purchase as she had been unwell. I told her I'd enjoyed looking at them and reflected too that I had learned about a couple of local groups that I didn't know about. I like to know about what's going on locally to share with others during conversation. Angelique often tells me that I know everyone and everything. It's a long way from the truth but I have an interest in my community and connecting people, for sure. It's definitely an interest/skill I would hope to use more when circumstances allow. Walk leading too is something I think I'd like to do more of perhaps. ....along with something creative.
I offered to cover Elaine's parkrun RD slot today as she wasn't well.. I picked up the kit and Emma on my way to the park and was delighted to find Dave and Elaine had already built the funnel when I arrived at the park. Other things too were very pleasing;
I got to wear the new larger Hi Viz
I got to cuddle Reggie (pictured)
I got to wear my new parkrun hat and gloves
I engaged with lots of parkrunners, some of whom I now call friends
Gordon offered to process the results
Volunteer Grant gifted Gabi her own parkrun flag to celebrate her 250th volunteering completed last week as he celebrated his 25th
Marion gifted us a happy bell for people to celebrate personal sucesses at the finish.
I got to have a chat with Stu at the finish.
Yvonne enthusiastically rang Marion across the finish
Jim treated me to toast and marmalade at the zoo afterwards
The event went smoothly
I'm sure there was more.
Mr RIU and I went to the supermarket afterwards.
Reggie is the first dog that, since saying goodbye to Roo, I have actually wanted to steal.
I messaged words to that effect, with the picture, to MrRiU who replied that he'd gladly swap me for Reggie. True love.
