Our nights are chilly
so the heat is on in my
wee Yuma abode

~carliewired

I left the house before coffee or breakfast as soon as the light came up. There is something magical about morning light, especially here on the Sonoran Desert.

My target was the Little Church of Yuma on US-95. I first blipped it in November 2013 and told its history. I have sketched and painted it on my own and with our plein air group. This small chapel continues to hold my interest.

I looked south across the highway to the profile of the Gila Mountains. I looked west to the rocky hill behind it where a white cross graces the summit. I looked east to the agricultural fields where a citrus grove once grew. Now it's fields of crops. The tall fan that once protected the trees from frost damage remains.

I came home for coffee and breakfast after 8. I'm in for the day cutting fabric and sending off post cards. May it be a quiet one.
