Water, water everywhere
Mist on the hills, light rain drifting across the view, gloomy everywhere. It's so hard to feel bright and cheerful when the weather is so miserable! I ran my bath this morning just in time; by 8am the water was off - again! Yet another burst water main - this must be the fifth time this year, at least. I think it's the same main every time - why don't they replace it instead of constantly patching it up! It's just as well we collect rainwater from the roof for flushing loos and washing up, but even so MrsM had to drive down town to buy bottled water for drinking and cooking. At one time the council would organise a hand-out of bottled water, but they seem to have given that up too!
The website suggested it would be back on by 3.30, but surprisingly we had water before 1pm. By this time it was wet and windy - the guys repairing the main deserved their double time for working on a Sunday. At least I hope that's what they got!
Spent some time today on my London walks. Just finished the Lambeth and Borough Market one and am now going back to earlier days which I'd not finished.
