Kandyan Drum in Morning Light

It looks quite dull otherwise. In 1982 I had the good fortune to stay in Sri Lanka for three months where my husband was doing a contract. I was miserable much of the time with a small and fractious baby. We did go to Kandy on the way to Nuwara Eliya in the hill country. We stopped at the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy where a religious ceremony was underway, accompanied by the full size version of these drums. Definitely worth seeing.
