Selby Botanical Gardens

I took my sister to Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota (FL) today. It is the only botanical garden in the world dedicated to the display and study of epiphytic orchids, bromeliads, gesneriads, ferns and other tropical plants. They focus on botany, as well as horticulture, education and historical preservation. There are so many interesting and beautiful plants there, but the water lilies really captured my attention.

My sister leaves tomorrow to go back home. She lives in the Northeast and so she will return to cold weather. Brrrrrr! It was lovely to spend time with her... she'll be back in February.
