Christmas cakes and silly travel agents
I am still feeling poorly with the most hacking cough, feel like I am choking at times. Otherwise I have a bit more energy and washed up then made these cakes for Christmas. The wash up was from last week - that’s how much stuff haven’t done lately. Bob even did some vacuuming without being asked. Way to a girls heart is for her hubby to vacuum. He says that is sexist.
There are heatwaves in part of the country reaching 47.1 C (116.7 F) in Victoria today. Now that is HOT. It’s currently 33 here and we have the cooler on. If you aren’t outside it isn’t a bother but I feel for the animals and people who need to be out doing any sort of exercise. Imagine cooking Christmas Cakes in this weather, silly?
My Sister in Law, Carol, and I have been trying to organise a short cruise together. Neither of us has many stipulations but I want a decent ship not full of kid stuff and nice dining. She has a specific budget. Sounds like an easy thing to organise but it isn’t. Today we got online and via a phone call, with our husbands lending a hand, settled on a 5 night trip down to Hobart (Sydney/Sydney). Everything seemed perfect so we booked and paid a deposit only to see in small print it is for 2026. Blimey we all cracked up laughing. We were thinking it was in a few months time. So we had another look and found one in April next year for 3 nights on a new ship we havent tried so booked it as well. So 2 cruises booked yay.
Reading an interesting novel called Never Never by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher. I wonder how 2 authors collaborate when writing a book. This is the third novel by Colleen Hoover and they are all completely different so far.
