Away with the Fairies
Holy moly - I think this is my 5000th blip! I had plans to do something special* (a collage of fabulous moments over the last however many years it is) and write something deep and meaningful but I got side-tracked - yes, by a holy well! Anna contacted me and wanted to talk wells so I came over to see her and after much talk, coffee and Portuguese custard tarts, we decided we needed to go and visit a well. Had I been to the Fairy Well? No! Bella the dog came too and we piled into the car and headed off to the coast. A man was having trouble with some bold sheep and we stopped for a chat. He had never heard of a well but showed us the name of the nearby by house, Fairy Well. Encouraged, We went across the fields, down some steep steps towards the very rocky shore, both of us being ultra cautious on the big slippery rocks. The well was high up in a cliff, a stone wellhouse now covered in ivy and the whole area dripping. The collage gives the gist. It was a very secretive and hidden area and took some scrambling to reach the well. Anna reckoned it was called the Fairy Well but so far, I've not been able to find out anything about it. I am going to have to come back and loiter in the hope of finding someone who does.
5000 blips - gosh. It remains a pleasure to have a quick daily trip around the world to see what everyone's up to and a continued marvel at how pleasant and generous we remain to each other. It's also a great pleasure to look back on the years - how quickly they go, how much is accomplished and yet how much remains the same. Thank you too to Blip Central for just being there and keeping it all going.
* Actually this is pretty special, a new friend and a new well - good work for one day.
