The Green Green Grass of Home

Four months of being used as the builders' letdown area has certainly taken its toll on the lawn in the back garden, but even the weak winter Sun is enough to wake it up. Gradually, the worm-cast covered mud is turning towards a more garden appropriate colour. 

The birds are having a great time, though, hopping here and there and pulling out a multitude of wriggly worms! I caught the attention of this pied wagtail as I opened the window to sneak a pic, and he obviously felt the feast of tasty soil-driller was worth the risk of remaining...

I don't think I'll be needing the lawnmower any time soon...
